Breaking boundaries to discover something new—that’s every paraglider pilot’s dream. The NYRA RS makes those dreams a reality. Are you ready?

Whether you’re planning your first long cross-country flights, embarking on a thrilling hike-and-fly adventure, or exploring new destinations with your wing, the lightweight and versatile NYRA RS from our D-LITE series is your ideal companion.

Performance Meets Comfort and Control, Thanks to RAST

The NYRA RS is a high-performance, safe, and intuitive mid-B wing. Incorporating the DNA of our proven XC glider, the Stellar RS, the NYRA RS allows you to soar higher and farther than ever before. And when your adventures take you on foot to remote locations, its lightweight construction and compact packing size make it perfect for lightweight reversible harnesses.

A new chapter is waiting for you!

The NYRA RS offers ambitious intermediate pilots and dedicated recreational flyers a wealth of possibilities. It delivers excellent performance with exceptional flying comfort. Thanks to RAST technology, it remains predictable and easy to control, even in challenging conditions. This makes the NYRA RS perfect for beginners venturing into cross-country flying, unforgettable hike-and-fly adventures, and enriching paragliding trips.

Who is the NYRA RS for?

In our current product range, the NYRA RS positions itself perfectly as an accessible mid-B wing, bridging the gap between the MIURA RS (low-B) and the STELLAR RS (high-B).

Pilots with some initial experience in thermal flying and an active piloting style will find it easy to transition to the NYRA RS. Even certified pilots flying around 30 to 50 hours per year can seamlessly step up to this versatile wing.

Merkmale

• RAST - for maximum control; On paragliders with RAST® the canopy is divided into different internal pressurised sections by one or more fabric panels, some with valves running crossways to the direction of flight. This makes it possible to influence the air flows within the canopy.

With RAST, the air equalisation flows within the paraglider canopy can be regulated through defined openings. This applies both when filling,(during take-off) and when emptying. In the case of pressure loss, e.g. caused by canopy collapse in turbulent air, the relative internal pressure of the CORE section increases, while the BUFFER section absorbs the introduced energy by deformation. Furthermore, RAST can be used as an additional support to the leading and trailing edge, which has a positive effect on flight comfort. As RAST connects the ribs over the entire profile height, the construction has a stiffening effect and reinforcements and/or stiffening elements can be saved or even completely replaced by this special construction method.

For the NYRA RS, RAST was optimised for the following characteristics:

For the NYRA RS, RAST has been fine-tuned to provide a comfortable and compact flight experience with neutral pitch behaviour and high canopy stability, even with its lightweight construction and minimal line attachment points.

• Nitinol Wires - For maximum profile stability; Nitinol, a high-strength, temperature-resistant, and corrosion-resistant shape-memory alloy, is used by SWING as one of the first paraglider manufacturers to enhance nose reinforcement.

The Nitinol reinforcements, combined with short nylon wires at the profile nose, ensure a permanently sharp leading edge and maximum profile fidelity. With 35% coverage at the leading edge, the Nitinol wires protect the paraglider fabric from premature wear. The upper surface reinforcements are minimized to avoid excess weight while ensuring resistance to kinks, temperature, and moisture. This ensures that no unintended deformations impact the NYRA RS’s performance, even if it is not perfectly packed or stored.

• Sharknose - An adapted sharknose profile increases internal pressure at the front of the canopy at low angles of attack, providing optimal stability during high-speed flight. The sharknose is maintained in perfect shape using SWING’s Hybrid FlexEdge Technology, uniquely combining the advantages of Nitinol and nylon wires.

• Pro Dry Aramid Lines - for maximum performance and trim stability; The NYRA RS features an optimized line geometry designed for weight reduction, speed, and easy application of big ears.
- Material mix: Encased main lines paired with uncoated Aramid gallery lines of the latest generation.
- Pro Dry coating: Reduces moisture absorption by 60%, improves UV resistance, and enhances dirt resistance.
- Visibility: Lines are coloured magenta, blue, and orange for easy identification and sorting.
- Durability: High line stiffness minimizes knot formation during use.
