The Instinct VS, subtlety blends the characteristics of the Slipper and Lace-Up versions to create a superb, low volume shoe.

This women's version features the same Micro-Suede upper used on the Instinct SR which provides great flexibility and ensures that the shoes hold their shape longer than leather equivalents

The upper is built around the down-turned toe last of the Instinct family ensuring precise toe placements with high levels of feedback. Vibram XS-Grip 2 ensures that your feet will stay planted on the smallest of edges and stiffens up the toe increasing responsiveness. Bi-Tension technology intimately connects the toe and the heel of the boot helping to increase overall performance which is guaranteed to last.

A 2mm, hand-crafted Vibram XS Grip 2 heel combined with velcro straps keep the heel of the shoe firmly secured to your foot even on the most demanding heel-hooks with the new toe rand design providing durable performance on toe-hooks.

Scarpa athlete and well-known climber Robbie Phillip's has written a series of informative guides on how to choose and get the most out of your climbing shoes. You can check them out here.

These are just for general guidance as we can't guarantee a good fit unless you come in store, unfortunately!

If you are new to rock shoes, we HIGHLY recommend either using hire shoes for a few sessions or getting to a local shop to try some on. If that isn't possible, then give us a call or drop us an email! We can offer you a bit of advice from our years of experience.

If you are used to rock shoes, this guidance should help you to reach a good fit. This is still not guaranteed as everybody has different shaped feet: wide, narrow, high volume, low volume, long toes, short toes, bunions, heel spurs and all the rest. The very best thing to do is make your excuses and take a trip to come see us in North Wales. You can get some proper shoes, heaps of shiny kit and most importantly - out on real rock!
