The development of the Stellar RS had one goal: To create an exceptional High B-wing that combines the best of two classes.

For this ambitious endeavour, our designer Alessio Casolla drew upon his extensive experience of 2-liner technology from the C-class.

Equipped with the canopy structure of our Libra RS and a proven 2-liner profile, the Stellar RS targets XC specialists with the highest performance demands. So that you are still able to take full advantage of the reliability and flight comfort of the B-class while you’re chasing those kilometres, we used our popular Nyos 2 RS as a reference during extensive flight testing in this respect.

The result:

The Stellar RS combines the performance of the Libra RS with the reliability of the Nyos 2 RS and, through its sprightliness and speed, has its very own character. The weight-reduced yet durable design extends the range of use and ensures that you will enjoy your Stellar RS for a long time.

High flight comfort on long distances and excellent glide performance even in turbulent air.

Compact, lightweight, and yet 100% suitable for everyday use through robust semi-light construction.

RAST for maximum control in every situation

Who is the STELLAR RS for?

We recommend the Stellar RS primarily for ambitious cross-country hunters and hike & fly adventurers who like to be on the move in X-Alps style. However, experienced intermediate pilots without ambitious goals will have fun with the Stellar RS too.

Features

• RAST for maximum control; On paragliders with RAST the canopy is divided into different internal pressurised sections by one or more fabric panels, some with valves running crossways to the direction of flight. This makes it possible to influence the air flows within the canopy.

With RAST, the air equalisation flows within the paraglider canopy can be regulated through defined openings. This applies both when filling,(during take-off) and when emptying. In the case of pressure loss, e.g. caused by canopy collapse in turbulent air, the relative internal pressure of the CORE section increases, while the BUFFER section absorbs the introduced energy by deformation.

Furthermore, RAST can be used as an additional support to the leading and trailing edge, which has a positive effect on flight comfort. As RAST connects the ribs over the entire profile height, the construction has a stiffening effect and reinforcements and/or stiffening elements can be saved or even completely replaced by this special construction method.

• Nitinol wires for maximum profile stability; Nitinol is a high-strength, temperature- and corrosion-resistant shape memory alloy. The name Nitinol is an acronym for Nickel Titanium Naval Ordnance Laboratory.

The Nitinol reinforcements ensure a permanently razor-sharp leading edge and maximum profile fidelity for the STELLAR RS. In the area of the leading edge, these are inserted into silicone tubes to protect the stretched paraglider fabric from premature wear. The stiffeners in the upper sail have been reduced to a necessary minimum and are also made of this kink-resistant, temperature-and moisture-insensitive shape memory alloy. This guarantees that no unwanted deformations on the canopy will affect the performance of the STELLAR RS – even if the canopy has not been packed or stored optimally.

• Pro dry aramid lining - for maximum performance and trim stability; For the STELLAR RS, we used the latest generation of uncoated Aramid for the main and top lines on the A and B levels. The special Pro-Dry coating reduces the moisture absorption of the line by 60% and also increases UV and dirt resistance. The lines are easily visible and simple to sort due to their colouring in magenta, blue, and orange, even without a sheath. The high rigidity of the line material leads to a reduction in unwanted knot formation too.

• Sharknose for more stability at speed; To increase the internal pressure of the profile in the front area of the STELLAR RS at low angles of attack, a profile-adapted, Nitinol-reinforced shark nose ensures optimal stability at high speeds.

• C Bridge - for simple rear riser control and pitch stability; The C-Bridge of the STELLAR RS connects the C- and B-risers via a smooth-running pulley system with high-quality Ronstan pulleys. This makes it possible to fly our 2.5-liner like a 2-liner. Simply grab the C-risers below the line locks and place your palm in the ergonomically shaped and neoprene-padded C-Bridge. By pulling straight down, the C- and B-risers are shortened in the correct ratio, allowing you to control the angle of attack without deforming the profile. With this technique, the STELLAR RS can be be piloted effectively, especially at high speeds, and turbulences can be easily compensated for.

• Airflow alignment - for optimised aerodynamics; The profile of the STELLAR RS originally comes from 2-liner development. However, it could not be utilised in a pure 2-liner because it required a third line level for support to maintain its shape.

In the STELLAR RS, the profile specially developed for high performers is now being utilised again. The individual ribs are aligned from the wing centre outward in the direction of airflow. This, combined with a double 3D shaping at the leading edge and mini ribs at the trailing edge, achieves maximum aerodynamic quality of the profile.

• Effective big ears - for an easy quick descent; Big ears is the simplest method to increase the sink rate of the paraglider. In the 2.5-liner class, however, this standard manoeuvre is anything but a given. With the STELLAR RS, you can perform this useful descent aid without any special “tricks.” The “ears” remain stable at effective sink rates, both at trim speed and full speed, and in turbulence.

• Light brake handle with magnetic Fidlock attachment and brake handle swivel to prevent the brake line from twisting.
• High-quality Ronstan pulleys for the accelerator and the C- and B-pulley system
• Nylon threads at the leading edge for a shape-stable leading edge
• Mini ribs reduce ballooning and ensure a uniform trailing edge
• Dirt channel at the trailing edge ensures that dirt is automatically transported to the outer wing.
• 3D Shaping – executed simply or double, reduces crease formation
